1919, New Orleans is gripped by panic following the brutal murders over the past few months. In the letters received by the police, the so-called "Ax Murders" boasts of being able to kill at will and being untouchable. To prove it, he threatens to kill again on a specific day anyone who is not listening to jazz. On the appointed day, all of New Orleans takes to the streets and floods the hundreds of clubs that crowd the city where bands play jazz non-stop.
