Akelarre

17th century Cervera, year 1617. A woman named Magdalena, wife of Salvador Cuberes, a resident of Montclar, was accused of witchcraft, of having impure dealings with the devil, causing crop failures and killing children. A total of six women were tried in the town of Cervera during the 16th and 17th centuries; some were banished, others were released, but only she, Mrs. Magdalena, was tortured and sentenced to death. 500 years later many women condemned for witchcraft under the laws of the Holy Inquisition are exonerated. Despite that, no one knows the true story.
