Throughout its history, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona has had to be rebuilt time and again. Built on the site of an old convent of the Discalced Trinitarians, legend has it that among the rubble of the first fire, a text was found that read: “I am an owl and I go alone, if you rebuild it, I will burn it again.” It is believed that to rid themselves of this prophecy, the ring worn by the mother superior of the convent must be found and secured. Our investigators believe that the key may lie in a small alternative theater that was part of the original convent's heritage, and is thought to have been used as a rehearsal room in the early years of the Gran Teatre. But it can't be that easy. This theater faces its Final Performance before being demolished by its new owners, who have been pursuing this property for years due to its strategic value as an access point to a new mega-parking lot in the center of Barcelona. By finding the ring, we will not only break the curse, but we can also prove that this theater is part of the original Gran Liceu. In this way, it would be protected by the Cultural Heritage Defense law. The judge has authorized the entry of the excavators just 60 minutes after the final performance ends—whatever happens, make sure you are out by then: these people will not stop for anything or anyone.
