On June 13, 1952, the tomb of Kínich Janaa´b Pakal II, ruler from 615 to 683 A.D, was discovered in a lost temple. Inside his tomb, the Jade Mask of King Pakal was found, which was believed to endow the King with superhuman powers. Years after its discovery, new research suggests that the mask is fake and the real one is in the Temple of Fire.
